How to Clean PerfectFIT Pleated Blinds
Dusting PerfectFIT Pleated Blinds
Regularly removing any build-up of dust is the best way to ensure your PerfectFIT Pleated Blinds look fresh for years. We’d recommend either gently brushing down the fabric with a feather duster or using the upholstery brush attachment on your vacuum – just make sure you don’t press against the pleats too hard otherwise you run the risk of wrinkling or ripping the fabric.
Tackling Marks and Stains on PerfectFIT Pleated Blinds
If the dust is a bit stubborn, you might need something a little tougher than a vacuum. You can use a damp sponge – damp, not wet – dipped in lukewarm water to wipe across the pleats. Try not to use any fabric conditioner on the blinds as the material can stain and always remember to work from the top to make sure that you don’t accidentally give yourself twice as much work!
If your blind has suffered a few mishaps and picked up a few small marks and stains over the years, like splashes of food or drink, then warm water and a soft cloth will do the trick. We’d recommend removing the blind from the window so you can lay it down and don’t have to stretch to get to the top. Just gently pat any marks away (only rubbing them very gently and only where necessary!), and rehang the blind when it’s completely dry – patting it down with a towel can speed this along – and your blind should be as good as new!
How to Clean PerfectFIT Roller Blinds
Dusting PerfectFIT Roller Blinds
Stopping the build-up of unwanted fluff is the key to making your blinds last for years. Rather than remove the blind completely from the window, you can leave it hanging – just make sure it’s lowered enough that you can quickly and gently dust off the material. We’d recommend avoiding one of those fuzzy yellow dusters – they leave trails of fluff across the fabric which gives you twice as much work to do! A dry cloth will do the job nicely and mean that you’ll be able to keep on top of your blinds’ maintenance much more easily.
Tackling Marks and Stains on PerfectFIT Roller Blinds
As our PerfectFIT Roller Blinds are made from a polyester material, they do require a bit more of a gentle touch than PVC Roller Blinds when it comes to cleaning. We’d recommend using either a damp cloth to wipe gently or dab at any stained areas or, believe it or not, biodegradable baby wipes! Baby wipes have proved themselves to be the best cleaning aid for our roller blinds; they’re just damp enough to clean thoroughly without leaving any marks themselves and they don’t use any harmful substances that can damage or stain the material.
How to Clean PerfectFIT Venetian Blinds
Dusting PerfectFIT Venetian Blinds
PerfectFIT Venetian Blinds, like their standard fitting counterparts, are an absolute dream to clean. If there’s just a bit of dust building up on the slats, grab that feather duster and brush it over the top and bottom of each slat.
If you like your cleaning to be a little more fun – and not to mention quicker – stick with us here because it sounds a little odd, pop a sock on your hand (the fluffier the better!), tilt the slats closed, and simply wipe your sock-clad hand across the slats! We’ve found that starting in the centre and going to either side works best to ensure that the dust doesn’t get picked up and dropped off further along the slat, then you just need to tilt the slats the opposite way around and repeat.

Biodegradable baby wipes are a great way to remove any marks that may have built up on the slats over time, you can pair them up with a duster for an extremely quick and easy clean.
If a baby wipe isn’t quite cutting it, grab some warm soapy water and give any stains a gentle scrub with a brush, it often helps to take the blind down from the window so you can access it more easily. Then grab a damp cloth to wipe any suds away, and a fresh dry towel to pat the blind as dry as possible before rehanging.
