You can choose almost any style of blind to place outside the recess for a sash window. However, we suggest avoiding our No Drill or Conservatory Blinds, as they might interfere with the window's ability to open properly.
Sash windows have a unique design that can make it a bit tricky to install fittings within the recess. This is mainly because when you open the window, the lower half slides up over the upper half. This means that when the window is open, it takes up more space within the recess. Therefore, it's a good idea to follow the measuring guidelines for what’s known as ‘exact’ fitting, and mount the blind on the wall above the recess rather than trying to fit it inside. Many sash windows come with decorative architrave surrounds which can be quite helpful, as it gives you a handy spot for taking measurements.
